CIRCUIT BENDING is the creative short-circuiting of low-voltage, battery-powered electronic audio devices such as children's toys and small synthesizers to create new musical instruments and sound generators. Emphasizing spontaneity and randomness, many more conventional contemporary musicians and musical groups have been known to experiment with "bent" instruments.

Musical accompaniment by Discoma and Bonefish Sam & His Orchestra, perhaps on bent instruments.

What to expect

There will be a short presentation on the history of circuit bending and basic instructions on how to do it.

Then you will be able to participate in hands on circuit bending. You can bring your own toys to circuit bend but a number of toys will be available for purchase garage sale style. Some tools will be available but to avoid waiting bring your own.

Towards the end there will be a group discussion and a chance for people to demonstrate what they discovered.

This will be followed by live performances by Discoma and Bonefish Sam & His Orchestra.

What to bring

  • Tools: Screw drivers large and small, pliers, wire cutters and strippers, soldering equipment, electrical tape.
